Austin was putting some heating balm on his shoulder in the locker room when Marc came up and patted him on the shoulder.
“You recover from the other night man? Thanks to you, we all didn’t get any sleep.”
Austin laughed. Molly was really loud the other night in San Diego. He was nervous the guys were going to hear her and rag on him but they never did the next day. He wasn’t surprised Marc was giving him a hard time now.
“Took you long enough to say something.” Austin teased.
Brady came up to both of them and said, “If we said something to you the next day we might have hurt you. Seriously man can’t you keep your women in check?”
“Hey, I can’t help how much pleasure I bring them.”
Marc took up a chair next to Austin and said, “Sounded more like she was faking it to me.
“You would know, Marc.” Brady said smiling.
“I wouldn’t know anything right now that’s for damn sure. I haven’t gotten any in quite some time. I’m almost positive last time I checked my sac, I found blue balls.”
“Damn what happened to Mr-new-girl-every-night?” Austin asked.
“He has a new prospect he’s working on.” Brady added. “How is it going with Patty? Making any progress?”
Austin watched Marc run his hand through his hair and down his face.
“I don’t know. Earlier today we were at the park and having such an amazing time and I thought I was making some real progress. Toward the end of our outing I thought she was going to kiss me but instead she nearly pinched my nipple off,”
Austin looked at Marc with a confused look on his face and Brady returned the same confusion. They looked at Marc and both said, “What?”
Marc shook his head, “Long story but I just don’t know. It’s taking such a long time and I know to be patient but I don’t think I can hang out with her again and keep my hands to myself. She is amazingly beautiful and she doesn’t even realize it.”
“Those are the worse girls.” Brady said. “They are too good looking for their own knowledge. That’s how Jane is. She struts around the house in rolled up sweatpants and a little tank top and thinks she is just being comfortable but all I can do is think about several different ways of ripping her clothes off.”
“That is how I am with Molly.” Austin said and as the words slipped out of his mouth he realized what he just said and the looks on Marc and Brady’s faces confirmed his mistake.
“What?” Brady said.
“Molly?” Marc asked.
Michael, the Braves’ centerfielder, walked over from rubbing his cleats clean of mud and said, “Molly Myers, as in Jane’s best friend.
Where did Michael come from? He wasn’t in this conversation to begin with.
So now instead of two, he had three sets of eyes staring at him and demanding answers. There was no going back now. He just needed to make sure to keep them quiet.
Maybe at least now he could ask them for some advice about Molly and see if he made the right decision between Molly and Lucy.

Brady could not believe what he just heard. Austin was with Molly? For how long? Did Jane know and not tell him? Oh she would be in big trouble if she did. They were not supposed to keep any secrets from each other, even the little ones.
“Was Molly the girl in San Diego?” Michael asked.
Oh good question, Brady thought. Now that he thought about it, the voice he heard was familiar but he wasn’t sure if it was because he was so tired from the lack of sleep causing him to be delirious.
Austin wasn’t saying anything and Brady started to get annoyed. “Austin, seriously spill it.”
“Fine, yes Molly was the girl in San Diego.”
“I knew it!” said Michael. “I thought I saw her in the hallway but I wasn’t sure. She was the one who kept all the guys up to the early hours of the morning?”
“Yes, I’m sorry. I don’t know what got into her that night. She flew out just to fuck and then took a flight back early in the morning to go dress shopping with Jane.”
“Huh, now that you mention it, Jane did say that day how weird Molly was acting and how there was some kind of fight between Lucy and Molly. Does Lucy know about you two?”
Brady hoped not. Jane told him how much Lucy was in love with Austin. Lucy claimed it was just a crush but Jane knew better. She could tell Lucy was head over heels for the guy. He felt bad for the girl because Austin was a bit of an airhead and would never notice Lucy pining after him.
Austin let out a long breath and shook his head yes. Damn.
“Lucy knows about me and Molly. She has been the person I go to, to talk about my issues I have with Moly…until the other night.
“What happened the other night?” Marc asked.
“I called Lucy to see how she was when we got back into town and she was drunk and upset so I went to her place to see if she was ok.”
Brady interrupted, “This doesn’t sound like it’s going to end well.”
“It doesn’t. She was on her couch in this short silky robe holding a glass of wine and looking incredibly sexy. She looked at me with these huge hopeful eyes and I couldn’t help myself. She was so damn beautiful I never saw her like that before. I took her to bed and we had sex, a lot of it and in the morning right after I got done taking care of her needs if you know what I mean, Molly called me. I don’t know why I answered the phone.”
Michael grabbed Austin by the shoulder so he was looking him in the eyes. “You answered the phone right after Lucy had an orgasm?”
Austin shook his head yes in shame. Oh crap. Brady was so glad he was not in Austin’s shoes right now.
“I’m just so used to answering the phone when she calls because she barely calls. I’m the one who always calls. I completely forgot where I was and told her I would see her later that night.”
“See who later that night? Lucy or Molly?” Marc asked.
“Molly.”
“So let me get this right.” Brady said. “You just got done finger fucking Lucy, you answered your phone, talked to Molly and told her you would see her that night…all in front of Lucy?”
Austin just shook his head yes.
“Jesus.” Marc said, while Michael and Brady exhaled in disgust.
Michael just patted Austin’s back and Brady sat back in his chair rubbing his head. Good Lord did this guy put himself in a rough spot.
“So what happened with Lucy?” Brady asked hoping that somehow Lucy was not hurt in what only Brady could describe as a fucked up love triangle.
“I fucked things up with her. I haven’t talked to since that morning. She flipped out on me and kicked me out of her place. I deserved it.”
“Jesus, Austin.” Brady said. “You realize that girl loved you right? I know it’s not my place to say anything but you really need to fix things with her or you might lose Lucy forever.”
“I’ve already lost her…I chose Molly.”
All the guys asked “What” at the same time.
“I love Lucy but not the same way she loves me. Molly is the one for me. She’s so exciting and thrilling, so full of life. She still is a little skittish when it comes to making a commitment and I have to keep quiet about our relationship which I trust you guys will but I know she will come around. She is still getting over losing her fiancé.”
“Dude, that was like two years ago” said Michael. “She is using you man. I’ve seen it before. Typical Molly behavior. Let me ask you; does she avoid talking about commitment? Does she only have sex with you when you’re together or do you actually have a conversation and connect emotionally? My guess is you only have sex, after hearing what happened the other night. I’ve known Molly since college and I know her tendencies and I’m telling you right now man, she is using you and she has no intentions of starting a relationship with you.”
“No, that’s not the case this time. She said how she doesn’t want to have sex with anyone else but me.”
“Great.” Said Brady. “She doesn’t want to have sex with anyone else but that doesn’t mean she’s not using you.
Austin got up and walked over to the water cooler grabbing a cup of water.
“Listen, thanks for the help guys and the little pow-wow but I can take care of myself. I know what I’m doing.”
“But what about Lucy?” Marc asked.
“What about her? She was the one who kicked me out in the morning and didn’t let me explain. If she wants to talk to me, she knows my number, until then I’m just going to focus on Molly because that’s who needs me right now.”
Brady shook his head grabbed his jersey and put it on. “Man, you are a real dick head, you know that?”
Brady walked out of the locker room and down to the dugout he couldn’t stand being near Austin at the current moment. He felt so bad for Lucy. He needed to tell Jane in case Lucy needed somebody to talk to. Brady spent a lot of time with Lucy while putting on and helping out at events with Special Olympics. He got to know her very well. She was a great girl and deserved to be treated better, not fucked by a dickhead and then left for another woman…while the bed was still warm.

Jane grabbed her hot dog and beer and followed Albert to their seats right next to the dugout. Albert scored some awesome seats thanks to his friend. Jane always loved going to the Braves’ games and watching Brady play especially when she got to sit incredibly close and stare at his ass all night long in those tight pants. Albert always said baseball was not America’s favorite pastime, staring at baseball player’s asses was and boy was he right.
Albert cleared the way for them so they could get to their seats without spilling their beers. It was easy for Albert because not only was he an older guy with a loud voice but he was dressed in a sequence navy blue jacket and ruby red shoes. He wore both “stylish” items to every Braves’ game, he always called the glittery ensemble, his uniform.
They took their seats and admired the pristine field that was spread out in front of them. They were sitting in the front row right next to the Braves dugout. Jane could offer advice to Deek Jones if she wanted to but she wouldn’t because frankly, he scared the crap out of her.
“Darling, that t-shirt jersey is so damn tight on you, I feel like your nipples are winking at me” said Albert.
Jane laughed. “This is the one Molly gave me right after Brady and I started dating. It’s my favorite shirt.”
“Well it looks amazing on you. Have your boobs gotten bigger?”
“I think so, I’ve gained some weight. You know the whole love chub. I haven’t been running as much because I’m too busy exercising with Brady.” Jane said wagging her eyebrows.
“I think the only part of you that has gained weight is your breasts because you are still skinny as hell. How is that fair? I wish I only gained weight in my breasts but it just goes straight to my love handles.” Albert said while outlining the side of his body.
Jane was laughing at Albert when a tall shadow stood in front of her. A loud cheer erupted through the stadium as she looked up at what was blocking her sun. Her very handsome fiancé was standing in front of her, holding a bat on his shoulder.
“Fancy finding you here ladies.” Brady looked Albert up and down and said, “Looking hot as usual Albert.”
“Why thank you, not too shabby yourself. By the way have you noticed your little Jane’s tits have grown? I can’t stop staring at them.”
Brady looked down at her and smirked. “Believe me, I’ve noticed.”
Jane turned red. “Alright enough with my breasts. Are you allowed to be over here?” Jane asked looking around afraid someone was going to yell at her.
“Yea why not, the fans like to watch us interact.”
“They sure do” said Albert. “Did you know it was much easier to go to a game with Jane before you publicly proposed to her before one of your games? Now I have to make a path for her just to get to our seats. It’s exhausting.” Albert began to fan himself.
Brady laughed. “I’m sure that heavy jacket doesn’t help.”
“You know this is my uniform Brady.” Albert said while caressing his sleeves. “I don’t go to a game without it.”
“I know.”
While Brady and Albert were talking about Albert’s glitter “uniform”, Jane just watched all the girls taking pictures of Brady and whisper about him. Jane was one lucky girl she had one of the most eligible men in Atlanta and was going to marry him in a few short weeks.
“What are you thinking about over there, sweet thing?” Brady asked.
“Oh you know, just looking at all the girls admiring me for having your heart.”
Albert started making fake puking noises but Jane ignored him. Brady bent down and kissed Jane straight on the mouth, he lingered at her lips for a second before he pulled away. There was a lot of hooting and hollering coming from the dugout, making Jane blush once again.
“You better get going. I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
Brady bent down and placed his mouth right next to her ear.
He whispered, “You’re so fucking hot in that shirt. Be prepared to get it peeled off you later tonight.”
“I was hoping you would say that.” Jane said kissing his cheek expecting him to pull away but he didn’t. He continued to whisper.
“Listen, I want you to check on Lucy for me. I’m worried about her. Send her a text. Something went down between her and Austin and I just want to make sure someone is checking on her, ok?”
He lifted his head and he noticed the confusion in her face.
“I will explain later. Just text her, please.”
“Sure anything you want.” Jane said.
“Thanks baby, now give me and my bat a kiss for good luck.”
Jane stood up and decided to give the fans a little show. She bent over the railing and kissed Brady’s bat then grabbed him by the back of the neck and pulled him in close, capturing his mouth with hers. She slid her tongue in his for a bit of extra show and then slowly pulled away placing a kiss on his nose.
He looked at her with sleepy eyes and cleared his throat. “Thank god I’m wearing a cup so no one can see the excitement in my pants right now. Remind me to pay you back later for that tonight.” He said with a wink.
He walked away as the guys joined him, giving him playful punches and making kissing faces in his direction.
“Oooeee girl, I’m all hot and bothered from just watching the two of you. I can’t imagine what you’re feeling inside.”
“Just think of a volcano. That man is irresistible” said Jane.
“What did he whisper in your ear? Promises about the night ahead?”
“Oh crap, I got caught up in the moment. I almost forgot. He wanted me to text Lucy to see if she was alright. Apparently something happened between Austin and Lucy and Brady wanted me to make sure she was ok.”
Jane pulled out her phone out of her purse and sent Lucy a text message.
Jane: Hey Lucy, Brady told me you and Austin got in a fight and wanted me to make sure everything was ok.
Jane put her phone down and drained the rest of her beer while she and Albert discussed the different patterns of grass on the field. They both agreed on liking the crisscross pattern the best when Jane’s phone beeped at her. She got a message form Lucy.
Lucy: I’m doing alright. Thanks Jane and tell Brady I said thank you.
That was it? She was not going to elaborate? Should she press Lucy a little and ask what happened? She was her boss so Jane could demand it from her, right? No it was Lucy’s personal life. She decided not to pry. Jane sent her a quick text back.
Jane: No problem. Please let me know if you need anything.
The game was getting close to starting. They were calling out the lineup. When the announcer called Brady’s name Jane and Albert stood up and cheered for him as well as all the other girls in the stadium. Usually Jane would be a jealous person but she was the one with the
ring on her finger, she was the one he looked at and she was the one who would be going home with him...every night for the rest of their lives.
He looked at Jane and pointed at her, she blew him a kiss then her phone beeped. She sat down sipped her second beer and read the text from Lucy.
Lucy: If you wouldn’t mind, I don’t think I can be around Molly anymore. I will do whatever it takes for the wedding but afterwards, I would rather not hang out with her.
What the hell? She was baffled. What the hell was going on? She knew something happened in the dressing room when the girls were trying on bridesmaid dresses but she didn’t know what exactly because they tried to cover it up so they didn’t stress Jane out. Now she wanted to know what the hell was going on. Jane shared the information she had with Albert real quick before Brady went up to bat.
Whenever he was batting, Jane sat in her seat with her hand over her eyes, peeking through her fingers. She was always so nervous watching him.
She went to sip her drink when she heard a crack of the bat. She looked up and saw the ball flying to the outfield. Albert was shouting next to her as well as the entire dugout. The ball hit the wall and bounced into the field. Brady rounded first and slid into second as the umpire called him safe. Jane stood up and cheered. Maybe she should kiss his bat every game.
Albert turned to her when they sat down and said, “Now back to this little soap opera. I think you need to talk to Lucy in person and get the full story. She is your employee and Brady’s friend, she deserves to be listened to. I love Molly but lately she has been bitchy and I can see her doing something to hurt Lucy.
Jane thought about that. Albert was right. Molly was Jane’s best friend but Lucy was also very important to Jane and she deserved to be heard and supported. Jane sent her a text back.
Jane: Monday morning we will be talking about this over some coffee and my cinnamon chip scones. If you need anything over the weekend do not hesitate to call.
